The sylvari are all connected to each other through the Dream. In the Tassof Series, I had to figure out how that works, and implement it. Does it simply make them more empathetic? How does that work? Can sylvari in the Grove feel what sylvari in Lion's Arch are doing?
The Commander likes Aurene. Dragon's Watch likes Aurene. The Pact likes Aurene. A million nameless NPCs like Aurene. So why don't I?
The relationships between the NPCs can be summarized as: partners. Everybody has a partner. But who is the Player's partner? Turns out, several people, at different times over the course of the storyline.
It's widely known by the fans that Trahearne was killed off because people complained about him... but I think that ArenaNet broke the 'show, don't tell' rule, and that played a part - how significant, I don't know... but first impressions are important, and the Players got a really bad one of Trahearne.
